Can you believe it’s already been one year?
What started as a dream—just a spark rooted in passion, motherhood, and a longing to create something meaningful—has transformed into a soulful, thriving photography business that has touched more lives than I ever imagined. As I celebrate the one-year anniversary of Indie Essence Photography, I’m reflecting with deep gratitude, awe, and a heart so full it’s hard to put it all into words.
But here it goes...
A Year of Becoming
Indie Essence was born from my love for storytelling, my lived experience as a mother of nine, and a desire to empower women to see their own beauty—raw, radiant, and real. From that foundation, I’ve spent this year building more than a business; I’ve built a community. A place where vulnerability meets strength. Where softness and fire exist together. Where women, mothers, families, and free spirits can show up as their truest selves.
I started this journey with a camera and a calling—and now I’m closing out the year with a gallery full of stories I’ve had the honor of capturing.
A Glimpse at the Growth
This year brought me:
Dozens of clients who trusted me to freeze their most sacred moments—maternity sessions in golden light, intimate boudoir shoots that celebrated self-love, joyful family portraits in nature, and branding sessions that reflected the heartbeat of creative entrepreneurs.
A blossoming portfolio of outdoor goddess-style portraits and documentary-style motherhood shoots that reflect both my personal passion and professional voice.
A focus on photographing women solo in nature—an artistic niche that’s become the signature of Indie Essence. Whether it was an empowerment session in the forest or a soft sunrise maternity shoot, each photo told a deeper story.
And most importantly: growth. As an artist. As a businesswoman. As a mother balancing it all.
Investing in Myself, So I Can Serve Others Better
One of the most powerful parts of this journey has been saying yes to opportunities that stretched me. This year, I traveled to Boise, Idaho, to attend a transformative photography workshop—something I would have never imagined doing a year ago. That trip opened my eyes to new techniques, new connections, and a deepened confidence in my voice as a photographer.
I’ve invested time, energy, and soul into learning not just how to take a beautiful photo, but how to create an experiencefor every person who steps in front of my lens.
What I’ve Learned
Authenticity is everything. When I show up as my full self, my clients feel safe to do the same.
Every body, every season, every story is worthy of being celebrated.
Slowing down matters. Some of the most powerful shots come when we take a breath, let go of perfection, and allow the moment to just be.
